Today's Office of Readings and the Debate

This morning, a priest friend, Fr. Meyer, called me and asked "Have you read the Office of Readings yet?"  I told him no, and he told me that when I did, I would be surprised given the debate last night.  About an hour later, I got to it, and here is the passage:

"Anyone who teaches anything different, and does not keep to the sound teaching which is that of our Lord Jesus Christ, the doctrine which is in accordance with true religion, is simply ignorant and must be full of self-conceit – with a craze for questioning everything and arguing about words. All that can come of this is jealousy, contention, abuse and wicked mistrust of one another; and unending disputes by people who are neither rational nor informed and imagine that religion is a way of making a profit." 1 Timothy 6: 3-5

  1. Last night Vice President Biden looked into the camera and told millions of viewers, that the hhs mandate isn't forcing anyone to pay for things that violate their consciouse.
the dictionary defines lie as: a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive. any person who has followed this issue understands people are being forced to violate their conscious. Even people who believe contraception, sterilization or abortifacients is just fine realize its offensive to others. they may not care. but at least most of them are honest enough to admit what the hhs mandate does. the Vice-President on the other hand isn't even honest enough to tell people what this policy does, he just denies it.

Any person willing to vote for someone who they know purposely deceives millions of americans may just get what they deserve, a dishonest government. To paraphrase the first few words of Galatians chapter 3,
O foolish Americans, who has bewitched you!

  2. Wow...strong words...makes me wonder if Timothy had just finished arguing with someone before writing that and was a bit perturbed.
