A very worthwhile project. I hope it's as successful as "The Third Way"
A very expensive project. A MILLION dollars worth. That's a LOT of money that could be used to feed the starving little children in Africa---who look like skeletons---with buzzards swirling over them.....
We are called, first and foremost, to sanctify and change the hearts in our midst. No one does more for the poor around the world than the Catholic Church, but we also spend money on other things."The poor you will always have with you" - Jesus
I'd like to see you look into the eyes of a starving Ethiopian child and tell him he aint getting no food cause that money was used to make a movie about marriage."The poor you will always have with you" - Jesus "Gay people will always inhabit the earth so quit trying to mess with them" - Normal People
I can't look into the eyes of a starving Ethiopian child...if I could it would mean I was in Ethiopia, and if I were in Ethiopia I would be called to do all I could to help the poor there. The Catholic Church provides more aid to those who lack the basic necessities of life around the world than anyone else, including the US government. As for Jesus, he also said "a man shall leave his father and mother and cling to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." There wasn't a "man could, if he wanted to call it marriage, leave his father and mother and cling to his husband" exemption
I've already heard you say the Catholic Church provides more aid to those in need. I say prove it. Provide stats that can be backed up with solid, credible, weighty evidence. As for what Jesus said about the man shall leave his father and cling to his wife, there are tons of people in violation of that. Or could it be just a bunch of baloney like in the bible where Jesus says in FOUR places that you will get what you ask for as long as you pray with faith for it? Jn. 14, Mt. 21, Mt. 18 & Mk. 11?

Then I would counter by asking you to help raise $1,000,000 for the poor people in Haiti, along with the MILLION dollars you are spending to promote marriage.....that usually ends up in divorce.
I am helping to raise way MORE than a million for the poor in Haiti. I traveled and lived at a mission for a little over a year ago, have had Haiti missionaries come and speak at my Churches to raise money for their efforts, and I myself have contributed to many of Cross Catholic's efforts to help Haitians - a Catholic organization that gives WAY more than a million to Haiti in an effort I am a part of.
Fr. Hollowell, why is Matt 19 evidence against homosexuality? Jesus is addreesing a question about divorce, a question that was gendered to begin with: “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any cause?”. If the gendering of Jesus' response is your slam dunk against same sex marriage it seems vey weak, he was answering the man's question. It is unchastity. Jesus said "And I say to you, whoever divorces his wife, except for unchastity, and marries another commits adultery.” So does this mean women can divorce for no reason because Jesus' response was gendered?
Ah yes, so Jesus is actually for gay marriage. So the gay marriage camp says"Jesus and God don't matter, it's all a bunch of hog wash...but Jesus is actually for our position." That is comical
Huh? Yeah, not what was said at all. Try answering the question, or don't if you can't, but stop misrepresent one's thoughts if they were never said or even implied. Put that into practice with your biblical exegesis as well.
Jesus: "So there's this Paul guy coming after me who will claim to be my Apostle, but he'll be wrong on homosexual acts. And so was Leviticus. However, with your particular question, since you only asked about a man marrying a woman, I will answer ambiguously in order to hide the fact that I am actually FOR gay marriage!"
