  1. thank you so much for bringing this to light, so many do not know of the changes in the Girl Scouts. Many of my family are now members of Heritage girls.

    2. There are Heritage girls troops in Avon, Plainfield, Jamestown and Zionsville/Carmel. None in Brownsburg as of yet as far as I know.

  2. Luckily, GS of Indiana does not have any relationship with PP

    1. I'm asking this in all seriousness because I don't know the answer here - wouldn't GS of Indiana still have to pay some money to the national GS organization?

    2. It costs each girl and adult Girl Scout $12 to join and 100% of that goes to the national Girl Scout Council.

  3. GS of Indiana does have a relationship with PP as do all Girl Scout troops across the country

  4. I would like to probe this further. I was met with blank stares and the proverbial cricket silence when I repsonded with this rationale for not wanting to purchase cookies from my son's RE teacher. Another reason though is they use free child labor to fund the national and international organization with only 10% going to local chapters.

  5. Father John: Please update us further on any new information. I am personally sickened by this and don't want my daughter to sell another box of cookies or support this organization in any way for any longer. There are so many better ways and so many service projects our girls can lend their time to instead of pushing the sales of these cookies that gives a portion to fund PP! I also wonder why especially during Lent are they allowed to sell after mass? You leave mass really enlightened and on the way out "You guys want some cookies?!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1LUnPTlpbQ
