Video on the Actual Star of Bethlehem

This is a video I showed to my class a few years ago on the Star of Bethlehem. I first saw the show on EWTN and was really impressed.

This weekend is the Epiphany - the visitation by the wise men from the East. This is a pure case of science and religion aligning with one another.

The video is produced by the same person that produced the Passion of the Christ and I think you will really enjoy this.

  1. I forgot to mention that you can buy a good copy of this presentation on DVD. If you work with young people in any capacity it is worth the 15 bucks!

  2. Fr. Hollowell,
Saw this article linked through facebook -- you have a great blog going here.

Interesting that you mention the Bethlehem Star ... I wrote an article over at New Theological Movement in which I pretty aggressively attack the idea popularized by the video above.

You can find my article here -- http://newtheologicalmovement.blogspot.com/2012/01/it-is-mistake-to-try-to-discover-which.html
I'd be interested to hear what you think.

It's been too long since we touched base ... I think I have your cell number somewhere, I'll try and give you a call some time soon.

    Have a blessed Epiphany! +

  3. Fr. Erlenbush,

This is so crazy, because I made it to your blog last week when I came across a twitter feed that referenced your January 1st homily on the true virginity of our Blessed Mother. After reading it, I was so impressed, and it was an inspiration to me to study more and keep reading more - you educated others without turning them off and that is a true gift. I thought to myself "I need to get in touch with Fr." but of course the holiday happened and so forth - but let's definitely connect. I can email you a phone number or something.

I don't know if you know anyone at Wyoming Catholic College but I think I'm going to be helping them with their NOLS freshman experience where they take their freshmen into the mountains for a week in small groups. They try to get a priest for each group, and so I'm going to do it with them in late August. You would be perfect for it as well if you are interested. Anyway, we'll talk later, and I'll check out your post on this video. God bless!
