"The Catholic Priesthood" by Starlight Media

Branden Stanley's Starlight Media (mentioned on the blog here and here) has just come out with an awesome short but powerful video on the Catholic priesthood. Do you know someone thinking about the priesthood? Pass this on, but, MORE importantly, look for young men you think would be good priests and then TELL them you think would make good priests! It is an awesome life!

  2. Very nicely done. I can't imagine how my life would have turned out without the gentle guidance of the selfless and wise priests that I have been blessed to know.

  4. One of my 5 sons is married. The second has very seriously considered the priesthood but is fearful of the academic requirements. He just got accepted into the Air Force and goes to basic training in June. He said he will continue to consider the priesthood while in the military. I still have 3 more sons and they will all be watching this video. Thanks for posting it!

  5. I love how it represents the priesthood, not only for men considering the vocation, but for the Church in general, for ALL to see! :) GREAT job guys! Great video! Thank you for what you're doing!

  6. Great video, I was at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary last year and it was a great experience. I encourage the parents on here to ask your sons if they have ever considered becoming a Priest, sometimes that is who God calls men into the Priesthood, through the invite from a parent or loved one.

  7. Did my eyes decieve me or did I see the Extraordinary Form of the Mass being celebrated? The priest was facing AWAY from the parishioners and there were NO altar girls! And was that incense and a censer being used in a later shot? Where were the "Liturgy Puppets", the "Liturgical Dancers" and the army of "Eucharistic Ministers"? OH, the "Spirit of Vatican II" is being violated! Call to Action and Women's Ordination Conference must be notified!

    1. Its because the extraordinary form most clearly represents the apostolic beauty of the Church.

  9. How about a video about the religious sisters and nuns of the Church?

Requesting a more comprehensive video and religious vocations campaign,

    1. Sure, but I think you are seeing more videos on the priesthood because the need is more immediate in the sense that if nobody steps forward to be a priest, parishes close. If nobody steps forward to be a religious brother or sister, that isn't the case. I'm obviously a big supporter of BOTH more priests AND more religious, but I'm just telling you why there seem to be more videos on the priesthood right now.

  10. what a wonderful video, thank you for posting it! I believe there are more videos featuring priests nowadays because the Holy Spirit is reminding us to pray for good and holy priests--and to strenghten them for the battle to come. There will be a battle--it is the ageless battle of good vs evil of persecution vs freedom and our priests will be called to lead the way.
