Benedict's Greatest Hits #16

16) Summorum Pontificum - July 7th, 2007

"Habemus Latin mass!"

To the horror of the puppet Mass crowd throughout the galaxy, Pope Benedict released a letter in 2007 that will continue to shape Catholicism for centuries.

A summary of the letter is this: the Latin Mass is legal in any parish where people ask for it or the priest wishes to say it, even without the permission of the bishop.

The letter states:
"It is therefore permissible to celebrate the Sacrifice of the Mass following the typical edition of the Roman Missal promulgated by Blessed John XXIII in 1962...and may do so on any day with the exception of the Easter Triduum.  For such celebrations...the priest has no need for permission from the Apostolic See or from his Ordinary."

Breaker Breaker...1...9...this is "Father Sick of Guitar Mass" requesting permission to celebrate the Mass as it has been celebrated by our Fathers in the Faith...over

Father...this is Pappa Ratzi here...permission granted.  Get some wheels on that altar and push her on back against the wall!
