Interesting sermon but you are giving people false hope!! The below saint quotes seriously undermines your sermon. If it doesn't, I'm interested in knowing how it doesn't undermine what you said about God not waiting to drop people into hell. Lord, are they few that are saved? But he said to them: Strive to enter by the narrow gate; for many, I say to you, shall seek to enter, and shall not be able.' Luke 13:23-24'For many are called, but few chosen.' Mark 20:16Meditate on the horrors of Hell which will last for eternity because of one easily-committed mortal sin. Try hard to be among the few who are chosen. Think of the eternal flames of Hell, and how few there are that are saved.''I was watching souls going down into the abyss as thick and fast as snowflakes falling in the winter mist.' St. Benedict Joseph Labre'What do you think? How many of the inhabitants of this city may perhaps be saved? What I am about to tell you is very terrible, yet I will not conceal it from you. Out of this thickly populated city with its thousands of inhabitants not one hundred people will be saved. I even doubt whether there will be as many as that!' St. John Chrysostom, Doctor and Father of the Church'Shall we all be saved? Shall we go to Heaven? Alas, my children, we do not know at all! But I tremble when I see so many souls lost these days. See, they fall into Hell as leaves fall from the trees at the approach of winter.' St. Jean Marie Baptiste Vianney, the Cure of Ars, Patron Saint of Parish Priests'With the exception of those who die in childhood, most men will be damned.' St. Regimius of RheimsBeyond a doubt the elect are few.' St. Augustine, Doctor and Father of the ChurchSo many people are going to die, and almost all of them are going to Hell! So many people falling into hell!' Bl. Jacinta of FatimaThe number of the saved is as few as the number of grapes left after the vinepickers have passed." St. Jean Marie Baptiste Vianney, the Cure of Ars, Patron Saint of Parish PriestsThat's just a few saint quotes from a list of many. Remember, these saints have been canonized by the church and are reported to be in Heaven. If what they say isn't the truth, then that would mean they lied....and there is no way the church could canonize a saint having said things that aren't the truth.
I'm not saying there aren't people in Hell...I'm not even saying there aren't a lot of people in Hell, I'm saying God's identity, at the core of who God, is not a judge. God doesn't exist to judge. We are sent one way or the other, and the gate to Heaven is narrow, but Paul is saying "Is God's identity one of a judge - no - he sent His Son to acquit us...that's who God is at God's core.
