Harbaugh Brothers Talk About Their Catholic Faith

John Harbaugh likes the intellectual tradition of Catholicism and the reverence of the Mass.

And lest you decide to cheer for the Ravens, Jim Harbaugh, the 49ers coach, has traveled to Peru with his parish for several mission trips to Peru.  He talks about it here

  2. We could use more sports role models like Jim and John Harbaugh. I'm sure there are more than we know but their story hasn't been told. Thank you, Father John, for sharing this story.

  7. You know maybe Jh is a great guy, a saint even but some of these comments -really???. "Boy do we ever need more mene like this?" or "We could use more sports role models like Jim ..." bleh!!. I don't know why he got divorced but we certainly don't need more divorced men around. We certainly don't need more fathers who put their careers before their families. The prohibition against judging another mans soul cuts both ways. He may be holy he may not be holy. He is a good role model in some respects but not so good in others. The idolatry of sports and sports heros in this country is crazy!!!!
