Relativism - Every Person Needs to Hear This!

12 comments:

  1. Take away the bigotry and evil doctrine against gay weddings, take away the bigoted evil priests, take away the pedophile perverts, take away the criminal hierarchy who hid the perverts away, take away John Hollowell...........and yes the Catholic Church would definitely be a good force around the world. And, probably the most loving Church of all.

But as it stand now? NO

    1. Yes indeed - if you took away the teachings of the Church and allowed it to be whatever you wanted the Church to be, then I have no doubt that you would like that Church much better - but then again there would be no god, just you playing god and making the Faith into your image and likeness...and who wouldn't want to design their own Faith and decided for themselves what is and isn't true.

Satan did the same thing - he wanted to be God, but that always fails.

    2. The Holy Spirit temporarily left the Catholic Church in 2002 , if not long before that, and hasn't returned since. We, the majority of Catholics, say your work to demonize the LAW of the land that marriage now includes gay people and their families , is that of the devil.

The Church now needs to find a place for them at the table or the Holy Spirit will not return

  2. Relativism is a wonderful concept. It frees the mind and allows people to soar to their greatest heights without the weight of other people's "opinions" keeping them down. Relativism frees humanity from the oppression of those religions that want to control the world, even control those who don't care to subscribe to that religion. Relativism allows for the separation of Church and State, and allows for the 14th Amendment to come to life and protect us from the insanity of certain religions. Relativism means FREEDOM.

The guy is passive aggressive ...no wait....just aggressive and obnoxious....but you still beat him in that area Johnny boy ;)

    1. When there is nothing that is objectively true in the mind of a society, then things collapse rather quickly

    2. Mr/Ms Anonymous, you missed the WHOLE point of the discussion!

  3. Then he (and others) wonder why relativism is catching on? Judgmental, self righteous, ignorant , bigotry from "believers" are some plausible reasons

"Jamie" ? Making light of transgender children ? Can't believe what I heard from this guy. Let me educate him and you

A child who exhibits symptoms of extreme gender dysphoria for a long period of time is allowed to live as the gender with which the child identifies ONLY if that child simultaneously undergoes intensive testing and therapy. The child is monitored by a highly professional medical and psychiatric team that specializes with such a condition. Before puberty, if the child is affirmed and diagnosed as suffering from gender identity disorder, the child (along with the parents) and a team of doctors decide if the child is eligible to be approved for hormone blockers , which is TEMPORARY and entirely reversible shoud a misdiagnosis occur .

At age 18, and as an adult , that former child (who is still monitored by a team of professionals) can ask and possibly be approved for hormone therapy, and if classified at a high level of the 5 classifications determined by the Harry Benjamin scale, also opt and possibly be approved for gender corrective surgery.

Harry Benjamin defined 5 classes of Transsexuals based on varying degrees of disorder and discomfort, either via brain disorder, chromosomal issues, or fetus developmental issues. The lowest classification included those who can successfully be medically treated, returning them to the gender implied by their external physical appearance. Intermediate classifications were based on brain structural abnormalities, and the highest classifications were based on chromosomal and or fetal development abnormalities. The highest level is currently called Intersex- meaning both kinds of organs are present to varying degrees.

Notice the wisdom embedded in these classifications: Some brain disorders can indeed cause the wrong quantity or type of hormone to be released into the brain. Although it is a physical issue, it is fully treatable via medication alone. The higher classifications are currently NOT treatable without transition, and because the issue is not constrained to the brain, are never likely to be treatable.

Note that the highest levels of Transsexuals will indeed die if they do not transition, since the body is unbalanced, and sooner or later the body self-rejects.

It's an extremely long process and not one taken lightly by any parent who must deal with a child who has this condition.

Since officially the Church is still silent on gender identity disorder , the Catholic clergy and Catholics also ought to remain silent. Adding to the suffering of parents and children who go through this by making snide, uneducated remarks about it is not only uncalled for, but sinful.

    1. The Church is not silent on transgender issues. Do you need me to point you to some comments from the Church on the topic?

    2. No thanks.

Again, the Church is silent, there is no doctrine concerning the medical condition now called Gender Dysphoria by the DSM-5.

If you (or any member of the hierarchy, including a pope) make "comments", you're giving your own uninformed, uneducated opinions, which is of no interest to me or anyone else.

  4. OK, let's take the "keep silent" advice seriously. Let's accept for the moment that this is exclusively a medical issue and that non-medical people have no authority to speak on it.

Now let's suppose I am approached by a transgendered person who is a man who thinks he's a woman and asks me if I think he's a woman.

    I keep silent.

Irritated, he demands to know whether I accept that he's a woman.

    I continue to keep silent.

And so on and so on.

    You good with that?

  5. " a transgendered person who is a man who thinks he's a woman"

That statement already says you're completely ignorant on the subject . Therefore it's a complete waste of time to even discuss it with you. Once you educate yourself, then we'll talk
