Dead Vines Look Alive for a While

  1. Christ says that I am the vine, you are the branches, you remain in me and you will bear much fruit, and if you do not remain in my, you will not bear much fruit and you will die. So how does that work for people with mental illnesses like schizophrenia, bi-polar depression, psychosis, multiple personality disorder, etc..... How does this work for them? Is it an automatic sentence to hell for them? Even if it's not their fault they are psychotic?

    1. Please, Fr. Hollowell, I need an answer. I, myself am mentally ill, and suffer greatly from it. How does this work? Please, I beg you for an answer. I can't bear much fruit because of my illness.

    2. I'm not sure what you are asking. Why would a mental illness be an automatic sentence to hell for them?

    3. I think the anonymous person was asking that because it seems as though mentally ill people can't "bear fruit" it seems. I was at Mass once where a very mentally ill man came in and sat in front of me. He was loud, carved a cross onto the back of the pew in front of him, then changed pews to sit next to me, then got up and went to the altar where he grabbed the cross and knelt down and started chanting, then sat next to me in my pew again. He sang loud and horrible, pointed at the priest during Mass, shook the pew violently, cut in line during communion and then popped it in his mouth like it was a pill, got on his knees and put his head on the floor IN THE ISLE at the end of Mass when we were praying to Our Lady for the conversion of sinners, screwed up most of the prayers, did the sign of the cross with his left hand, and then told an older gentleman at the end of Mass that he(the disturbed guy) was from another dimension, but loved Jesus.... Btw, just wondering, if it were to be better for these disturbed people to not attend mass? Seems like this guy was way too mentally ill to even attend, as is one who has pneumonia.
